I write software for Zions Bancorporation to maintain and measure the quality and performance of the bank’s deposit portfolio models for attrition, pricing, and liquidity risk. The tools I’m using most at work right now are Python, SQL, and Azure DevOps. In Python, I use scikit-learn and torch to build predictive models.

I earned a master’s degree in statistics and a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from the University of Utah in 2023 and 2021 respectively. I wrote my master’s thesis on the application of causal inference to examine the relationship between deposit product pricing and deposit volume attrition.

Lifelong learning is something that has always been important to me and so I’m always looking for ways to expand my skillset, so this year I’m learning C# and working toward my Google Cloud Platform Associate Cloud Engineer certification. But sometimes, I want to learn something non-technical, which is why I often bake sourdough bread, churn homemade ice cream, and properly brew teeny tiny cups of gyokuro green tea. It turns out that a lot of my non-technical lifelong learning is food-based.

Outside of work, I spend a lot of time practicing the piano (currently working on Beethoven’s Piano Sonata No. 1, Op. 2 and Mozart’s Piano Sonata No. 12 in F Major with my teacher), tinkering with my home lab, and getting lost in my favorite video games.
